Bid Adieu to Studentoffortune

It was painful to read their message, "The website studentoffortune will be taken down by 15 August 2013". I had no idea that such a website will get closed down. It was the only website I have ever came across which had the potential of making thousands of its users billionaires in no time and it was actually doing a great job emerging as a platform for both tutors and students who needs help. I enjoyed working for it. I earned lot of wealth, which is about to expire though.

I wanted to earn more but was disheartened to know about their future plans of working with chegg. There is no special incentives in working with chegg as they give only points through which limited things available in their market can be bought. All the fun, of earning in studentoffortune is spoiled.  It was a website started by college students to help other students to get Homework help. The idea worked, It succeeded in its efforts, as people started using it. This was a great opportunity to earn money sitting at home working online by providing homework help in the form of tutorial by charging nominal amount of fees from the student. Students also got benefited, as they received great helping hand by paying less fees, which they failed to get by their college professors. But in some sense it was being misused. The manner in which it was working was not proper. Some people used to post fake tutorials and earn money by illegal means, but all such cases were handled very well through a rating scheme, where if they are rated F, no body would like to make any purchase from them in future.

Also, if we take the side of the students, then we realise that they became so much dependent on the website. Some rich students having enormous wealth started posting all of their college homewoks and projects and this is something which crosses the thin line of Ethical acts and makes it unethical.

But again as everyone is now following a self-centric approach, so people were interested in Earning money by giving as it is solution to everything that is being asked. Why should we care about the Ethics? But there is a rule; to be successful in the long run in any business it is necessary to follow the ethics. But this was not the case here, as Ethics were beyond the control of a common man as if in case he tries to do this business in an Ethical manner, he would get a bad rating which would imply no earning at all.

So this is how it worked and now it is gone. But hey!, It has left it's imprints and shared its idea to keep it alive through others. Yes there are thousands of websites which emerged on the same concept. I spent one month doing research on many of them. I came across one of the very trusted website where people can shift without hesitation and full trust just the way they used to do at SOF.

The website is here :-
