Most important political issue of Upcoming election

In India at this time assembly elections are on the verge in 5 states and prioritized criteria of every political party is to entice large number of population to secure votes in their favor.

Since the election commission has ruled out strict guidelines regarding the spending by a political party during election and stricter punishment regarding paid news, so it has become difficult to entice population by paid news or by distributing gadgets and stuffs.

The only way to entice population is by passing out some legislation in favor of the people they want to entice to gain vote. On one side of the coin UP chief minister Mayawati announced that UP will be divided in 4 parts- Bundelkhand, Avadh Pradesh, Poorwachal and Paschim Pradesh, though the decision will face a setback forever because parliament in no case would allow such maniac decisions, but it would give a winning assurance to Mayawati, who is now succeeded in enticing the favor UP people by passing such legislation.

On the other side of the coin Congress Government has ruled out a new legislation providing 4.5% reservation for backward minorities within the 27% quota meant for OBC.

The decision would pave the way for reservation in government jobs and educational institutions for minorities as defined in section 2 (C) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis) are notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the Act. The decision is based on the recommendation of the National Commission for Religious and Linguistic Minorities.

This decision is considered unconstitutional by both Muslims as well as other parties. Other parties considering it unconstitutional because constitution does not permit reservation based on Religion (though Tamil nadu has such reservation for Muslims) and the other issue is Backward Muslims are already covered under 27 per cent quota for backwards and fixing separate quota on the basis of religion is against the Constitution.

The reason why Muslims are considering it as unconstitutional is that the Rangnath Mishra commission, which submitted its report in 2007, suggested that Muslims should be provided 10% reservation. It means Muslims are demanding more reservation, they are not satisfied.

Government can never satisfy these minorities or reservation hungry people, so better remove the reservation and the majority would be fully satisfied.
